A good friend of mine has her own cupcake business and I had the great opportunity to take some photographs for her. She does custom orders and her work truly speaks for itself. If you are in the Ottawa area and would be interested in making an order or would like some additional information, then please contact me 🙂 Enjoy 🙂
I love to take pictures! I may not be a professional photographer but nonetheless I take all the pictures I can, wherever I go. One things that I cam guilty of however, is not fully displaying all those photos that I had taken. While the digital world is amazing for photography advancement, it tends to make you less motivated to do prints, albums or canvas.
I love searching things online, to gain inspiration and ideas on every aspect of life. One of these inspirations was on how you can display these photos that we all take. Below are a few of my selection from the web. hopefully some will inspire you to showcase some of those eye-catching photos 🙂
My wedding was the most beautiful day of my life. It was near perfection (not complete perfection since, well, nothing truly is :)) and I was very eager to do a project that represented that. I absolutely love all my wedding photos! We invested a nice part of our budget on our photographer and I do not regret it for a second.
I decided to do a little painting with one of our photos – particularly my husband and mine’s first dance! I did a silhouette type painting, in black and white. I wanted to enhance the photo by portraying my beautiful dress, my husband’s embrace and how we looked at each other.
My ultimate plan is to do three paintings: our first dance, father-daughter dance and mother-son dance. For now I am happy to present our first dance 🙂
Earlier I posted a sneak peek of my DIY project: the 3-D Blossoms! I am happy to report that I finally finished it and am ready for the big reveal. I spent a good deal of time cutting up heart of different sizes (the smaller it got, the more tricky it was to cut), I arranged them into blossoms and then filled in the gaps and it turned into a pretty presentation to hang up on the wall. I do have to say that with all the glue, the paper did curl a bit, so there is that slight bend in the photo. Once it is framed it will straighten and look better lol
Here it is, I hope you like it 🙂
Over the last little bit I had spent a bit of time on the internet looking into different DIY projects. The majority was for the home. I want to make my future home personal, beautiful and hand crafted … and when I say “I” I really mean “we” to include my husband but let’s be real – he doesn’t do crafts 🙂
Along the way I got very inspired by other things and have expanded into the world of crafts as a whole. One particular project I found to be really cute and pretty – and quite an easy task to take upon oneself – was a very nice 3D shadow box with a 3D paper blossom arrangement. Essentially you take any colored paper and cut up hearts in different sizes and then you arrange them in the form of a flower. And that it is!! It is simple and yet has a beautiful effect.
The original idea came from here: http://mondocherry.blogspot.com/ and they deserve all the credit. I wanted to try it out for myself and do it myself – which is the whole point of DIY right 🙂 !? I did however do a little twist in adding butterflies. The butterflies have some special meaning for me as it was used in our wedding decor too (insert an awww hehe)
So even though it is not finished, I wanted to show you a little glimpse of my progress so far. Pardon the quality of the picture, it was taken with my phone camera. A much better picture will be taken on the finished project. But for right now, this is a project on its way ….
